Nkooko, Bugangaizi East, Kakumiro: Women who vend at Nkooko Daily Market were engulfed by excitement when they hosted Hon. Agaba Aisa Black, Bugangaizi East legislator, these (women) took her around the market to inspect their stalls.
They told Aisa, “With the help of well-wishes, we were able to have this market place constructed and secured stalls here, we have been able to get some money that have helped us to secure some money which we have used to pay school fees, invest and save.”
After inspection, Hon. Aisa lauded the management of the market for thinking extra wise by putting up such a developmental structure in the and maintaining it in such an organized way. She was excited to see that the market is heavily occupied by women which are an indication that fighting poverty in the family is very possible sinec they play a big role in the financial take off of families.
“I want to thank you ladies for taking upon you the duty of harnessing economic development through involving yourselves in selling different things in this market to generate income. I implore you to save the money byou collect here such that you are able to use your savings at one time and do tangible investments.” She appealed to them.
She boosted their efforts with good financial support and asked them to use it appropriately by adding on their capital to boost their incomes.
This market is under Public-Private Partnership under a management led by the chairperson, Senkima Francis. Just months young, the market has since developed attracting many to secure stalls there.
