Kampala, Uganda: Hajjat Sharifah Buzeki, Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), has emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in transforming Kampala into a livable city. Speaking at a meeting with over 2,500 Smart City Ambassadors at Kitante Primary School, Buzeki stressed the crucial role the ambassadors play as representatives of the city’s communities.

“When we work together as a city, we achieve more,” Buzeki said, emphasizing the value of partnership between KCCA and the city’s residents. The ambassadors, volunteers drawn from all 857 villages of Kampala, serve as the “eyes, ears, and voice” of the city, she noted.

The meeting was part of a week-long dissemination drive across Kampala’s five divisions, aimed at sharing KCCA’s Five-Year Strategic Plan, service delivery standards, and Client Charter. “The Ambassadors have been taken through our aspiration in KCCA’s Five-Year Strategic Plan and our achievements in the past five years,” Buzeki stated.

Buzeki expressed gratitude to Minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs, Hajjat Minsa, for attending the event. The Smart City Ambassadors pledged to work with KCCA to deliver a livable city, aligning with the authority’s goals outlined in its strategic plan.

The event signaled a new phase of cooperation between KCCA and the city’s residents in pursuit of urban development objectives.
