Kampala, Uganda: The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has announced progress in addressing the city’s flooding issues, particularly in the downtown area.
As part of efforts to mitigate future flooding, KCCA has completed constructing 7 of 18 new drainage crossings along Ssebana Kizito and Allen roads, with the remaining 11 expected to be finished within the next 30 days.
Regarding compensation for affected traders, KCCA has identified 451 traders and documented their losses.
The list has been submitted to the Office of the Prime Minister, which will determine the final support package. KCCA will keep affected traders informed about the process.
