Kampala Joins BRICS Capitals in Historic Cooperation Agreement

Moscow, Russia: Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director, Sharifah Buzeki, represented Uganda’s Capital City at the signing of a landmark Joint Statement in Moscow, Russia, establishing a Parliamentary Movement for Capital Cities of BRICS countries.

The event, attended by high-ranking officials from BRICS member states, aims to promote sustainable development, urban innovation, and cooperation among cities. The agreement seeks to improve the quality of life for citizens, foster economic growth, and create favorable urban environments.

Buzeki emphasized Kampala’s commitment to the partnership, highlighting the city’s potential for growth and development through shared knowledge and best practices. The KCCA delegation will also participate in the BRICS Municipal Forum in St. Petersburg, exploring opportunities for collaboration on urban innovation and governance.
