Museveni Urges NAM Leaders to Embrace Economic Self-Reliance and Reject Global Hegemony

Munyonyo, Kampala: At the 19th Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement Coordinating Bureau in Kampala, Uganda, President Yoweri Museveni called for unity among over 120 member nations on trade, investment, and security while upholding national sovereignty.

He highlighted Africa’s $4 trillion GDP as inadequate for its 1.5 billion population, advocating accelerated industrialization to potentially reach $30 trillion, and reaffirmed support for a two-state solution in Palestine.

Ministers from countries including India, Iran, and Serbia discussed sustainable development, South-South cooperation, and humanitarian aid amid global tensions.
