Kampala, Uganda: The Kampala City Festival made a grand comeback on Sunday, October 12, after a seven-year break, filling Kololo Ceremonial Grounds with vibrant colors, music, and excitement.

Organized by the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) under the theme “Culture, Innovation, and Sustainability,” the festival brought together people from all walks of life to celebrate the city’s culture and energy.

The event kicked off with a lively street procession led by Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja and KCCA Executive Director Hajjat Sharifah Buzeki.

The festival featured various zones, including the Children’s Village, Cultural Village, and Halal Village, offering something for everyone.

The main stage was filled with music performances by popular artists, while vendors sold crafts, street food, and fresh produce. Despite a brief rain shower, the festival-goers danced and celebrated together, enjoying the event that was free and open to all.

The success of the festival was attributed to careful planning and collaboration between KCCA and national security agencies.

Hajjat Buzeki promised that the next year’s festival would be even bigger and better, while Prime Minister Nabbanja praised the NRM government for creating an enabling environment for Kampala to thrive.

The festival ended with fireworks, leaving a lasting memory for the thousands who attended.
