APAC, UGANDA: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, while addressing residents in Apac District, presented a detailed catalog of infrastructure and socio-economic achievements spearheaded by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government, urging the electorate to vote for the ruling party to safeguard and expand these developments.
The President emphasized that the government’s efforts have dramatically improved access to crucial social services in the district. He reported that Apac now benefits from 63 Universal Primary Education (UPE) schools, 7 Universal Secondary Education (USE) schools, and 1 technical training institution.
On health infrastructure, President Museveni highlighted that the NRM has established health centres in 10 out of the district’s 12 Sub-Counties, with plans underway to commence construction in the remaining two Sub-Counties and to upgrade several existing facilities to improve service delivery.
Infrastructure development, particularly in transport and energy, formed a major part of the presentation. Museveni noted that 10 out of the 12 Sub-County headquarters now have access to electricity.
Regarding roads, the President provided specific progress reports: work on the 90.9 km Rwenkunye-Apac road is at 66% completion, while physical works on the 100.1 km Apac-Lira-Puranga route have reached 80%. Furthermore, the full reconstruction of the 189.4 km Soroti-Dokolo-Lira-Kamdini road is in progress, alongside future plans to connect Dokolo to Amolatar.
In his wrap-up, the President detailed the success of wealth creation programs. He disclosed that the Parish Development Model (PDM) has disbursed UGX 16.7 Billion in the district, while the Emyooga program has provided UGX 2.1 Billion to local beneficiaries.
He therefore rallied, the people of Apac to vote for NRM to protect and expand these and more gains.
