Jinja, Uganda: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has officially commissioned the Kiira Vehicle Plant in Jinja, a state-of-the-art facility that marks a significant milestone in Uganda’s industrialization journey. As Africa’s largest and most advanced bus manufacturing plant, it showcases the country’s commitment to technological innovation, skills development, and economic self-reliance.

The plant, operated by Kiira Motors Corporation, a state-owned enterprise, has the capacity to produce 2,500 vehicles annually, with plans to expand to 5,000 units in the medium term.
This multi-million-dollar facility is expected to spur industrialization, create jobs, and reduce reliance on imported vehicles.
