Kampala, Uganda: President Yoweri Museveni has extended a hand of welcome to a group of individuals who have renounced their affiliation with the National Unity Platform (NUP), as reported during a recent meeting at Kololo. The President lauded their decision to “reform” and pledged the ruling National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) support for their reintegration into society.

In his remarks, President Museveni specifically congratulated the defectees and criticized what he described as “bad leaders in NUP and some sections of FDC,” accusing them of deliberately “misguiding the youth into danger, resulting in unnecessary deaths.” He asserted that these leaders “really have nothing to offer” the nation.
The President’s remarks were an outreach to those disillusioned with opposition politics, framing their departure as a positive step towards national unity and rehabilitation.
