Uganda’s Electoral Commission Accredits Delegates for Older Persons’ Committees Nationwide

Kampala, Uganda: The Electoral Commission is currently conducting a nationwide accreditation exercise for delegates of the District/City Executive Committees of Older Persons.

This crucial process is happening simultaneously in all four regions of Uganda: Northern, Central, Eastern, and Western. In the Western Region, the accreditation exercise is taking place at Acacia Country Inn in Mbarara City, where delegates are gathering to complete the necessary procedures.

This accreditation exercise is a significant step towards ensuring that the Older Persons’ committees are properly constituted and represented.

After completing the accreditation process today, the next step will be the election of Male and Female Representatives for each region, scheduled to take place tomorrow, Friday, September 26, 2025.

This election will determine the leaders who will represent the interests of older persons in their respective regions.

The Electoral Commission’s efforts aim to promote participatory democracy and good governance, aligning with its vision to be a model institution and center of excellence in election management.
