Katikara FC Wins Easter Cup in Thrilling Finals, MP Agaba Aisa Black Pledges Continued Support for Sports

Bugangaizi East, Kakumiro: Katikara Playground was abuzz with excitement on Easter Sunday as thousands of fans gathered to witness the thrilling finals of the Easter Cup, a tournament fully funded by Bugangaizi East MP, Hon. Agaba Aisa Black. In a nail-biting match, Katikara FC emerged victorious against China Wu Yi with a score of 3-1, claiming the top prize of 400,000 shillings.

The tournament, which saw teams from across the sub-county participate, was a testament to the commitment of the locals to boost sports activities in the area. Hon. Agaba Aisa Black, who funded the tournament, was on hand to award the winning team with the cash prize. The MP also awarded the second, third, and fourth-place finishers with 250,000 shillings, 150,000 shillings, and 100,000 shillings, respectively.

She also encouraged the players to diversify their skills, suggesting small-scale projects for financial stability, and kindly offered to support an injured player’s medical treatment.

Aisa Black pledged to provide a jersey kit and footballs for Katikara Sub County as part of her initiative to equip all sub-counties with sports kits for talent promotion.

This move is seen as a significant boost to sports development in the area, and the MP’s commitment to nurturing young talent was evident in her words.

“As your MP, I am committed to supporting sports development in our sub-county,” Hon. Agaba Aisa Black said. “We need to identify and nurture young talent, and provide them with the necessary resources to excel. I believe that sports can be a powerful tool for social change, and I am committed to doing my part to support it.”

Aisa Black pledged to provide a jersey kit and footballs for Katikara Sub County as part of her initiative to equip all sub-counties with sports kits for talent promotion.

“And I promise you that I am going to bring Hon. Mwine Mpaka, the owner of Mbarara City FC to come and spot talents from you, therefore work hard you never never know, your talent can make you excel and be the next person on national team, in Uganda Premier League’s biggest clubs or play outside Ugandan thereby prospering out of your talent.” She added.

The MP’s commitment to sports development is just one aspect of her broader efforts to improve the lives of her constituents. During the event, Hon. Agaba Aisa Black highlighted some of her many achievements in the area, including the construction of a theatre at Kisiita HC3 with a double cabin to relieve expecting mothers from the long journey to Hoima Referral Hospital.

“We have made significant progress in improving healthcare services in our sub-county,” Hon. Agaba Aisa Black said. “The construction of the theatre at Kisiita HC3 is just one example of our efforts to ensure that our people have access to quality healthcare services. We are committed to continuing this work and making a positive impact in the lives of our people.”

The MP also revealed that all villages that were not on the grid have been mapped to have electricity, a move that is expected to improve the quality of life for residents. Additionally, Hon. Agaba Aisa Black hinted at her ongoing efforts with the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, to push for the Ministry of Water to hand over water management to the Sub County authority.

“We are working tirelessly to ensure that our people have access to clean water and other basic services,” Hon. Agaba Aisa Black said. “We believe that this is essential for the development of our sub-county, and we are committed to doing everything in our power to make it a reality.”

Hon. Agaba Aisa Black pledged to champion the creation of Kisiita district from Kakumiro District if the proposal reaches Parliament.

After the award ceremony, the crowd dispersed with big smiles on their faces, eager to share the excitement of the tournament with their friends and family. The success of the tournament was a realization of the power of sports to bring people together and promote community development. With continued support from leaders like Hon.
