MK Birthday Run Organizers Refute Claims of Taxpayer Funding, Kabandana Wa MK Reveals Personal Expenses of Shs20 Million

The Silent Majority, led by Kabandana Wa MK (Kabanda Henry) has refuted claims by MP Ssemujju Nganda that the MK Birthday Run was organized using taxpayer money.

Kabandana emphasized that supporters of CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba took the initiative to organize the event, with him personally spending 20 million Ugandan shillings.

He broke down the expenses, revealing that he spent 8 million shillings in the first drive and 12 million shillings in the second drive.

The costs included 250 bikes at 20,000 shillings each, 400 T-shirts at 15,000 shillings each, and over 3 million shillings for Vuvuzelas, drinks, and eats.

Kabandana Wa MK also reported that he used 300 motorcycles in the second drive at the same cost, Ambulance hire, Sound system, transportation of supporters form their areas including Kikoni, Kajjansi and others. “Despite promises, he hasn’t received payment, leaving him financially strained.” He revealed .

The Patriotic Club spearheaded the event, overseeing all activities before and during the run. Reports indicate that the silent majority, including Kabandana Wa MK, organized the event on their behalf, with assurances of payment afterward. However, despite numerous creditors seeking payment, there’s been no communication regarding reimbursement.

Kabandana Wa MK’s unwavering dedication to the Patriotic League of Uganda and Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s leadership is truly commendable. His selfless efforts, evident in the successful organization of the MK Birthday Run, demonstrate his unrelenting commitment to the cause.

Despite shouldering significant financial burdens, Kabandana Wa MK’s passion and loyalty remain unshaken, inspiring others to follow his example.

He detailed his background in politics, starting in 2016 with the NRM Party after returning from the UK.

He was elected Assistant Coordinator of MK Army Uganda Central Region in 2021, winning with 7,000 votes, and later became Chief of Staff in the MK Movement for Central Region.

In 2022, he mobilized for the MK Movement gathering in the Sebei Sub Region with 50 bikes and over 100 foot soldiers who traversed the entire sub region for over 10 days, spending over 25 million shillings without reimbursement.

He expressed gratitude for Gen. Muhoozi’s support during his father’s burial, where he received 4 million Ugandan shillings.
