The NRM Deputy Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Namayanja Rose Nsereko has rallied the people of Mubende to support President Museveni, noting that the NRM government is committed to resolving people’s challenges.
Namayanja made the call yesterday while speaking at the 5th Buganda for Museveni rally in Kasana Playground, Mubende Municipality. She explained that the engagement is meant to raise awareness among citizens about the NRM government’s achievements and plans.
”The rallies we began throughout Buganda are meant to help us spread the NRM government gospel to the population in terms of its achievements. As NRM, we know where we have come from, where we are, and where we are going,” Namayanja said.
Namayanja noted that the NRM has achieved a lot in terms of improving the road infrastructure, electricity connectivity and distribution of safe and clean water to the population especially in the urban areas and continues to do much more.
“The Minister of Works and Transport, Gen. Katumba Wamala, has assured us that in the next financial year, funds will be allocated to complete the Mityana–Mubende road,” she revealed.
She assured the people of the government’s commitment towards resolving the existing land conflicts between landlords and the tenants.
“We are going to pay landlords to safeguard the wanainchi from eviction. We are committed to seeing this resolved,” Namayanja said.
On his part, the State Minister for Microfinance, Hon. Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo rallied the youth to embrace government interventions geared towards fighting poverty through policies like the Parish Development Model (PDM), and Emyooga among others.
The Mubende Municipality, Member of Parliament, Hon. Bashir Lubega Ssempa commended the government for delivering on key infrastructure in the district.
“In just three years, we have seen many roads in the municipality roads paved and the marrum roads graded. The Central market was also built at a cost of Shs 11 billion,” he said.
