National resistance movement party NRM on Saturday, 5th April, 2025 released it’s official election road map for primary elections.
According to Secretary General, Richard Todwong, the Road map starts with training of election officers on 16th April 2025.
He adds that 24th April 2025, Nominations for both LC1 flag bearers and village party structure officials, on May 1st 2025, Campaigning for both LC1 and Party village structure contestants.
May 6th 2025, Electing LC1 flag bearers and Village party structure officials, May 12th 2025, Voting LC2 Parish structure executives, May 16th 2025, Electing Sub county party structure leaders.
He adds that on May 25th 2025, District Conferences electing district party leaders then June 2nd 2025- Picking nomination forms by aspiring Members of Parliament, LC5 chairpersons and District Councillors.
June 17th 2025, Nomination of aspiring Members of Parliament, LC5 chairpersons and District Councillors, July 1st 2025, Campaigns by candidate Members of Parliament, LC5 chairpersons and District Councillors.
July 16th 2025, Electing Members of Parliament flag bearers, July 24th 2025, Electing LC5 Chairpersons and District Councillors flag bearers.
Twodong also says in July 28th 2025, Aspiring LC3 Chairpersons and LC3 Councillors pick nomination forms then on 1st 2025, Preparatory meeting of CEC and NEC prior to the National delegates’ conference.
August 5th 2025, Nominating LC3 chairpersons and Councillors, August 10th 2025, Campaigns for LC3 chairpersons and Councillors take off.
August 15th 2025, Electing LC3 Chairpersons, August 18th 2025, Voting of LC3 Councillors, August 20th 2025, List of all party flag bearers in Uganda is submitted to the National Electoral Commission.
August 22nd 2025, National Delegates conference elects leaders of Central Executive Committee and the Presidential flag bearer, August 26th 2025, NRM Presidential Candidate’s name is forwarded to the National Electoral Commission.
Then in September 1st 2025, Vetting of Vote Protectors kicks off, October 2nd 2025, Presentation for nomination of Presidential Candidate, then May 20th 2026, Electing of the NRM parliamentary Caucus executive ( 12th Parliament), May 20th 2026, Holding of Primaries for Party flag bearers- Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 12th Parliament.
August 20th 2027, Holding Primaries for members of Parliament to the East African Assembly.
