The NRM flag bearer for the Kawempe North By-election, Faridah Nambi, has called on women and youth to rally behind her candidature as she campaigns to represent the constituency.

Nambi made the appeal today while addressing her supporters at Kawempe Mbogo Muslim Primary School Ground after nomination by the Independent Electoral Commission.

“The Youth and Women are the majority in this Constituency and have the capacity to make a positive impact in their lives by voting a candidate who belongs to a tested and trusted political party in bringing peace, stability and development in Uganda,” Nambi said.

She also appealed to the thousands of NRM members in the party register to lead the way in canvassing votes for their candidate to ensure victory.

“NRM members in Kawempe North are over 20,000 which is a good start for me as a candidate if all they all turn up and vote on 13th April,” Nambi said.

Nambi who was accompanied by the NRM deputy National Treasurer, Hon. Jacqueline Kyatuhaire and the Party’s director for Mobilisation Hon. Rosemary Seninde, cautioned voters against self-seekers who are in the race to confuse voters.

“Please don’t pay attention to self-seekers whose aim is distraction. NRM has only one candidate (Nambi),” she said, urging them to unite for the good of the party.

The NRM Deputy National Treasurer Hon. Jacqueline Kyatuhaire said that as a party in power, they hope to cooperate with Nambi in the implementation of her promises to uplift the social well-being of the communities of Kawempe. “NRM is one. We are united, strong, and determined to achieve all our plans. All we require is your support,” Hon .Kyatuhaire said.

She reiterated the call to all party members to embark on door to door campaigns until the NRM gospel sinks into the electorates.

The Director for Mobilisation, Hon. Rosemary Seninde appealed to the voters to elect the Party Flag bearer, saying that NRM is ready to implement its promises captured in the manifesto working closely with the right Member of Parliament who is Nambi.

With Nambi as your legislator, Seninde said “everyone will benefit from the Parish Development model and Emyooga projects to fight house hold poverty within the Kawempe Ghettos.”

Seninde promised to unleash teams that will reach out to every voter, including those who may not be in agreement with the NRM. “Let us unite. Let us work together for the benefit and development of our people in the Division,” Seninde said.

“Like we have done in previous by-elections, I am hopeful for a clear win,” Seninde said because”Ugandans are no longer gullible to opposition lies.”

Campaigns will begin tomorrow 28th after a harmonization engagement of all the nine candidates.
