TO: THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
We, the management of Lwengo District NGO Forum, wish to bring to the attention of the general public, and the country at large, that there are individuals who allegedly intend to hijack and misuse the name and reputation of our organization for their selfish interests.
As the Corporate Secretary of Lwengo District NGO Forum, I hereby declare that our organization is a corporate body limited by guarantee, duly registered with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) and the National NGO Bureau. We also possess a valid trademark registration, an operation permit, and a certificate of good standing from the Executive NGO Bureau.
In light of the above, we wish to inform the public that any attempts to use our organization’s name, logo, or reputation without our explicit authorization and consent are strictly prohibited and illegal. We will not hesitate to take legal action against any individuals or entities that attempt to infringe on our rights.
We would like to remind the public that once a company has fulfilled all the required documentation and registration requirements, as we have, it becomes a privately owned entity with its lawful leaders and members. Therefore, no one whatsoever has the authority to make any changes or use our organization’s name and reputation for their own gain.
We refer the public to the Trademarks Regulations 2023, Company Act, and NGO Act, which clearly outline the rights and protections afforded to registered organizations like ours.
The official Lwengo District NGO Forum was registered in February 2024, and we warn that no one should dare use our organization’s name and reputation for their selfish interests, including seeking donor funding or any other purposes. We urge the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities or attempts to misuse our organization’s name and reputation to the relevant authorities.
