Exhilaration and delight were witnessed when the Director Finance and Marketing Kampala University, Mrs. Jolly Shubaiha Kateregga, visited Berufliche Hochschule Hamburg (BHH) University in Germany for a course of action on how the two Sisterly Institution can collaborate in a number of areas, most especially in Nursing and Midwifery.
Mrs Jolly whispered to us that Kampala University is planning to execute this noble mission for a number of cardinal reasons that include, but not limited to; having shared resources and expertise such as simulation labs, clinical placements, and faculty expertise, because this will help to have enhanced training facilities and more diverse learning opportunities for students.
Enhanced Curriculum Development is also one of the targets so that the two institutions share best practices and innovative teaching methods and this can help in developing a more comprehensive and up-to-date curriculum that incorporates the latest evidence-based practices.
Mrs Kateregga also highlighted that KU is interested in joint research initiatives that can lead to more robust studies and a greater impact, so this collaboration will permit the combining of resources, knowledge, and skills, which can enhance the scope and quality of nursing research.
She further said that partnering with Hochschule Hamburg (BHH), one of the most highly respected Institution of higher learning in the world, will provide nursing students with a wider range of clinical experiences. This exposure will help them gain diverse skills and insights into different areas of nursing practice.
She highlighted that professional development, expanded networking, addressing workforce challenges, and promoting of best practices to mention but a few will take centre stage in the collaboration.
She was received by the President of Hochschule Hamburg (BHH) University and later ushered in for a planning meeting for this noble cause.
Collaborations are so dear to Kampala University due to the fact that they lead to significant advancements in knowledge and societal impact, benefiting both the academic community and the wider world.
