Deputy Speaker of Uganda’s 11th Parliament, Rt Hon. Thomas Tayebwa has survived death after a helicopter in which he was being carried was involved in a nasty crash on Saturday evening.
The good news is that Tayebwa is okay and all he had traveled with.
“Dear all, my colleagues and I are all okay. No one is hurt,” Tayebwa said in a social media post via X on Sunday morning.
This publication also understands that the deputy speaker who earlier on Saturday attended a state function in Nebbi, West Nile, had travelled to Bushenyi by chopper to grace the Kuhingira of Ms Edinah Ainomugisha and Mr Albert Bagabe in the southwestern Uganda district.
Edinah is the daughter of National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) MD, Dr Eng. Silver Mugisha, and Hon. Annet Katusiime Mugisha the Woman MP for Bushenyi.
The crash reportedly occurred on his way back to Kampala from Bushenyi, according to yet-to-be-confirmed reports.
