Kampala, Uganda: On a spirit-field Wednesday Parliamentary fellowship, the Bunyangabu County Member of Parliament Hon. Kamukama Davis Araali was charged with the duty of preaching the word of God. Let by the holy spirit, the renowned man of God stepped on the pulpit and transformed the congregation through the word of life.
The fellowship was conducted under the theme ‘who is your friend?’. Hon. Kamukama quoted the scripture in Romans 8:35 that says, Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?.
“This scripture is a manifestation that Jesus committed himself to love us at any cost, amidst all the tumoil, he accepted to die for you and I to get saved from the sin that was meant to make us perish us. Remember no man can do it to a fellow man except him,.. ooooh what a friend we have in Jesus!” He noted.
In reference to the theme for clarity, he quoted a Chorus in the song What A Friend We Have In Jesus…
What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!
“I challenge all of you here, whenever you’re in distress, who do you reach out to first, whenever you’re sick, whenever you’re under attack, whenever you need refuge, who do you reach out to first, of course Jesus Christ. He is the rock of ages that was cleft for us, he offered himself for us an therefore dear brothers and sisters, the sole genuine friend we have is Jesus Christ.” He stressed.
He emphasized that ‘the only way we can recognize the love and the grace the Lord bestowed on us is to exalt his name through singing (praising and worship) and prayer of thanks giving. By doing this only all other desires on our hearts are immediately responded to because he knows what we want before praying. When you exalt him, you move him to work on your things ‘.
The fellowship was attended by a big number of people including members of Parliament, Parliament staff and some invited guests
