Former LCV Chairman of Amudat district found in Karamoja sub region has been convicted and sentenced to a jail term for stealing a government vehicle and selling it off in spare parts.

Francis Kiyonga Adamson was sentenced today, Thursday, 13th June, 2024 by the Grade One Magistrates’ Court in Matuga to 23 months and 14 days in jail.
Court also sentenced Kiyonga to an additional fine of Shs80M to be paid to Amudat district within six months of completing his custodial sentence.
Kiyonga was charged in 2021 with stealing and selling spare parts of a government vehicle, a double cabin pick-up truck registration number UG 0654, belonging to Amudat District under the Youth Livelihood Programme.
He was consequently charged with theft of a wrecked government vehicle valued at UGX130m. He stole it from Matugga Police Station and sold it in parts.
