Terrorist who is ed to have been one of the masterminds of the Kampala twin bombings has been killed by a joint force of UPDF and Counter Terrorism forces.
Ddamulira Yasin, also known as Musubuzi was killed on the night of Tuesday, 28th May, 2024 during a gun exchange when Security was attempting to arrest him.
According to a statement by Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs, Ddamulira was tracked after a one Musa Kabanda, also known as Akman was arrested shortly after the 2021 bombings. Kabanda confessed to having worked with Ddamulira, Abas Sekimpi (currently on remand), and Nsubuga Sulaiman who was arrested on 27th April 2024.
On 28 May 2024, Defence Intelligence Security, during follow-up operations, detected Ddamulira communicating in Mityana.
On the same night, Counter Terrorism forces and police attempted to arrest Ddamulira Yasin, resulting in a fire exchange. He was finally put out of action and one submachine gun (SMG) was recovered. Congratulations to our gallant forces.
