Newcastle United are reportedly holding out for a whopping £200million for their star striker Alexander Isak, as they brace themselves for a flurry of interest from Arsenal in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old Swedish international has had an outstanding season, netting 25 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions. This includes a remarkable 21 goals in the EPL making him the third-highest scorer in the league, only surpassed by Erling Haaland (27) and Palmer (22).
In fact, with 108 minutes per goal, Isak boasts the second-best minutes-per-goal ratio among the top 20 Premier League scorers, with only Haaland (95) ahead of him. His stellar performance this season has not gone unnoticed, attracting attention from football giants such as Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
Following a near miss on the Premier League title, Arsenal’s manager Arteta is eager to bolster his squad this summer.
Isak’s name has also been thrown into the mix after his impressive season at St James’ Park. However, according to the telegraph, Newcastle has no plans to let go of their prized asset this summer.
Newcastle have reportedly scoffed at the notion of a £90m bid for Alexander Isak being enough, with suggestions that Arsenal would need to table an offer closer to £180m to get the Magpies to the negotiating table.
