Uganda Communications Commission &Uganda Institute of Information have this morning signed an MOU that provides an administrative framework within which the two entities can operate effectively to meet the goal of transforming Uganda Institute of Information into a Centre of excellence in ICT training, innovation & business development.
Under the provisions of the Uganda Communications Act 2013, Uganda Institute of Information is mandated to “operate & manage” Uganda Institute of Information, a public tertiary institution specializing in skills based middle level ICT training at diploma, certificate & short course levels.
As part of the MOU, Uganda Communications Commission will provide an unconditional grant of UGX 2.6bn to Uganda Institute of Information in budget support for the 2023/24 financial year while subsequent grants are to be based on future budgets.
The ceremony at UCC House was presided over by Uganda Communications Commission Executive Director & Uganda Institute of Information principal, Dr. Fredrick Kitoogo, accompanied by their top management teams.
