After missing on the list of the newly appointed ministers, Frank Gashumba has defended himself and bragged that maybe Museveni is preparing him for the role of Bank of Uganda governor.
Gashumba made his intentions clear during a recent appearance on NBS TV’s barometer program, citing the vacant position left since the passing of Governor Mutebile in 2022.
Addressing speculations about his suitability for ministerial positions, Gashumba pointed out the available vacancies, including the governorship of the Bank of Uganda and the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
He hinted at the possibility of being appointed to one of these positions, emphasizing that the President’s selection criteria are diverse and purposeful.
Gashumba, who missed out on a ministerial position in the recent cabinet reshuffle despite his support for the ruling party, expressed confidence that his alignment with the party and President Yoweri Museveni would pave the way for his candidacy.
” Those saying I wasn’t appointed for any ministerial position, remember we still have two vacant positions: Governor Bank of Uganda and IGP. I could be appointed to those. That aside, the President has reasons why he appoints people. “- he said during the interview.
