News reporter and news anchor Canary Mugume has spoken about being related to the president of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

He has been said to be connected to the president for some time because he did an interview with him which was aired.
Canary Mugume is originally from Mbarara district and was raised by a single mother studying on bursaries.
Although he has been in the media, Canary Mugume said he has never been close to the first family or even chatted with them one on one.
He said it is very funny that people think he is related to the first family yet he is not and doesn’t look like any of them.
“I have seen people relate me to the first family but the truth is not we are not related and I don’t know any of their family members. What you people know in the media that is what I also know,” Canary Mugume said
