A young couple has fought inside their house to death in Bweyogerere. Police of Kira division has since started investigations into this matter.
This incident happed at Kireka Railway Zone, Bweyogerere Division, Kira Municipality, Wakiso district on January 23 at approximately 11pm.
According to police, the area local defense secretary identified as Latif Waiswa received reports from concerned residents about blood seeping from a locked house and upon breaking the locked door, they discovered two lifeless bodies of a one Jesca Acen aged 29 and that of Kenneth Ogwal Kenneth aged 28.
The two are said to have been a couple staying in a rented room in the area.
Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said that when the defense secretary learnt about the incident, he promptly alerted Bweyogerere Police, initiating a swift response.
“A police team secured the scene and gathered statements from neighbors, who revealed that the victims were a couple, suggesting a tragic outcome of domestic violence,” he said
From the crime scene, police detectives recovered a knife which is believed to be the murder weapon used by the deceased couple.
Police retrieved the bodies and conveyed them to KCCA mortuary Mulago for a thorough postmortem examination.
“Preliminary findings exposed a grim reality where Jesca Acen bore multiple fresh wounds, particularly around her neck, while Ogwal Kenneth, presumed to be the assailant, had a cut around his neck.” said Owoyesigyire
However, the crime scene revealed a violent struggle, with bloodstains visible on the mattress that the couple was sleeping on.
This incident follows a similar incident that occurred in Kibuli, Kampala, in December, in which a young couple fought to the death in their single rented room.
