Kisiita, Bugangaizi East-Kakumiro: On Sunday, Bugangaizi East County MP Agaba Aisa Black sounded a strong warning to the people who were entrusted to run public taps not to dare sell a jerry can of water beyond UGX.100. Public taps were installed by National Water and Sewerage Cooperation (NWSC) along the roads to benefit Ugandans who cannot afford to have their taps in their household.
Hon. Aisa told this website that for many years, the price of a jerry can has been too high, with a jerry can going up to 1000shs which would deprive a big number of people from taking clean water.
She clarified that, “this does not apply to those who have individual taps in their homes. Here the owner is free to charge any amount since its not public. With Kisiita Sub County developing as well others, I have fought to see that we bring water closer for safety of lives.
On Proposed Kisiita Health IV, Hon. Aisa stresses that she wrote Ministry of Health about the issue and they positively responded, also consulted Prime Minister who told her that she (Nabbanja) had contacted World Bank to have Kisiita HCIV. She added, there was limited land but later Kisiita Town Council donated land.
Aisa says, upgrade to HCIV was delayed by the absence of a land title where the hospital would sit yet government no longer establish Hospitals on land without a title but was later settled . the official work would begin in February, 2024 but the only thing is that the money is not yet released.
Speaking on the secured Ambulance for Bugangaizi East, Aisa clarified that Government bhas recalled all Ambulances that were recently commissioned to different constituencies to help in the NAM-G77 summits that re convened in Uganda from 15th-23rd/January, 2023 and when the summits end, it will be launched,
“I had invited the Prime Minister as the Chief Guest to launch ambulance to start doing work. As part of this ambulance, Ministry of health gave us a fuel card worthUGX.1Million per month to facilitate its activities of responding to emergencies.”Hon. Agaba Aisa.
