Bugema, Kampla Campus: Dr. Kafeero Matsiko the Vice Chancellor of Bugema University revealed the plan of expanding and completing the Bugema University science project aimed at aiding in science related courses for the future.
He made these remarks while unpacking the different events that will unfold ahead of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Bugema Education Institutions (Bugema University, Bugema Vocational School, Bugema Secondary School and Bugema Primary School).
“Our budget set for completion of the science complex is 3.5 billion. We believe that if we work together as a team with support from our students the general public, we will be able to achieve this. Matsiko said.
Dickens Ogwal, the head teacher Bugema Adventist Primary School appealed to the old students of the school to join the community in the bid to fundraize for the science complex which he believes will be one of the best in the country. ‘The science complex is a building for the science project meant to encompass the Laboratories for all the institutions to access the equipments and necessities required in pursuit of the science studies.’
On her part, Loy Nkambwe the Principal Bugema Vocational school said, the different institutes not only urge all organizations working with the SDA church but also well wisher organizations to rally behind this cause to see the event come to light.
The event will be initiated with a run on the 18th February , to kick-start from Bugema University, through Zirobwe and then back, and later a dinner scheduled for 22nd February at Hotel Africana, and the Major event to be held on 25th February. An alumni dinner will be organized however venue will be communicated at a later date.
