Kisiita, Kakumiro: The directive came to light when a local told Prime Minister that a certain official asked for UGX.50,000. for him to get his would be UGX.1Million and ended up getting UGX.1Million on top of UGX.120,000 that he was asked to pay in the same regard. After addressing his issue, other locals from different sides of Fundraising event in Kisiita Town Council, Bugangaizi East Cinstituency where PM was the Chief Guest, randomly shouted the same issue. A local explains how he was bribed to get PDM funds.
In response, PM Nabbanja was concerned of how the NRM Government is continuously initiating wealth creation programs but some Ugandans are not allowing them to sprout into the public for their selfish gains. She on this matter directed OC Station, Kisiita Police to open a General inquiry file for all PDM aggrieved locals and the perpetrators should be apprehended and pay the money.
“So, I direct OC, open a general inquiry file where all aggrieved people should register their statements indicating a person who asked a bribe from them such that they can be arrested.”PM Nabbanja.
“Going forward, we are going to deposit UGX.75Millions to SACCO Accounts and the remaining UGX.25Millions will come in May. When this money comes, they should not ask for any money from you people and I urge you to know your responsibilities, forexample, if the Parish Chief is corrupt, alert us such that we get rid of him and be arrested. I am going to come back here in Kisiita to educate you on different development ideas as your responsibility.” She added.
She asked the general public to be vigilant and don’t give out any money to any leader whatsoever, be it Parish Chief or LCII Chairperson “We gave UGX.1Million to LCII Chairpersons to help them run their duties. PDM money is for the poor not for the rich therefore no one should compromise the process.
On the other hand, PM Nabbanja responded to Kisiita HCIV question, saying that the upgrade from HCIII was delayed by the absence of a land title where it is sitting since Ugandan Government no longer establish Hospitals on a land without a title. She however informed that the process of harmonizing the matter was settled. “We are now waiting for a *no-objection * statement from World Bank expected this week and construction kicks off in February.”She affirmed.
She also pointed out the Nalweyo-Kisiita Mpasana-Nkooko-Masodde-(Nkooko-Kakumiro) is a priority road because it’s a PIPELINE Road and feasibility study was concluded, ‘the only remaining issue is the current lack of funds by the government’.
On MPOKYA question, the PM clarified that she met the Fountain of Honor on the matter and informed her that he will handled it claiming that there was a lot of corruption sorrounding settlement of the matter.
LAND TITLES STANCE:
PM Nabbanja stressed that there are many titles that were secured not only in Kisiita but even in other parts of Kakumiro. “I convened a meeting that involved all leaders from greater Kibaale in presence of officials from Ministry of Lands, we decided that we shall use government surveyors to devided titles. Wherever there is a land title that was secured, surveyors with come and have coordinates and you will get titles.”
“I want you to be confident that no one will be evicted from own land because the law of Uganda gives authority as bona fide Occupants to live on land because this was right from 1900 and those who came later, were settled by the government.”Nabbanja emphasized.
Nabbanja made these remarks at a fundraising event for the Proposed Kisiita Catholic Parish in Kisiita Town Council where she contributed UGX.10Million cash and bought items worth UGX.1.4Million.
