Kampala, Uganda:“Today, I had officials from Ministry of Works and Transport in Butenja village asking them to complete Butenja-Kyamujundo stretch that connects to the district road leading to Kakumiro District. The stretch is 2kilometers from the where the 7.6KM KABARUNGI-BUTENJA Road had stopped. This stretch has a bridge with damaged drainage system making it impassable thereby paralyzing development of the area. ” She highlighted.
She stressed that ‘when this stretch that connects Bugangaizi East and West Counties is worked on, it will enable transportation of goods, people and services there by boosting business in the area.Hon. Aisa Agaba Black address the Engineers at the bridge.
Addressing the Area MP and the residents on ground, Eng. William Kabiho – the Assistant Commissioner in charge of National Roads in the Ministry of Works and Transport admitted that he came to ascertain the state of the recently constructed 7.6Km Kabarungi-Butenja Road and the section that was left out between Butenja to the district road in Kyamujundo.
“We have observed that the road needs to be worked on especially improving the drainage system, shaping the road and replacement of broken culverts on the damaged part of the connecting bridge. We are going to prepare a detailed report and submit it to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry to avail funds for this work.” He stressed.
He admitted that basing on the report they are going to submit, the stretch will either be worked as part of existing contract or as a separate one.

Five months ago this road was constructed connecting all these Sub Counties in Bugangaizi East however locals were not satisfied with it’s standard. This prompted residents to forward their complaint to area MP Hon. Agaba Aisa Black seeking to be redone.
“This road has bounced back in the FY2024/5 budget and we are now looking for graders with the help Prime Minister Nabbanja who connected us to the transport Minister to see this road reconstructed well soon”. She admitted. Hon. Aisa with Engineers.
