As observed across the country, our Joint Security Personnel, both armed and unarmed, are already patrolling mapped out areas, to ensure peace, safety and security, for Ugandans and visitors, as we approach Christmas Day. The increased visibility and other road policing measures, of snap checks, stop and search operations, are only a small part of the comprehensive security measures in place.
Although, a threat environment still exists in the county, we would like to assure the public that we are continuously reviewing our level of preparedness and assessing all threats and vulnerabilities, in the countdown to Christmas and the New Year.
Our Joint intelligence components, have profiled all major and significant installations, all major venues, and hotspots with potential risks. All our standby teams, mobile squads, advance teams, 999 patrol, motorcycle squads, are already in place.
We have deployed an effective mixture of CCTV technology, which captures the number plates of vehicles and the images of drivers. All owners of private CCTV cameras are encouraged to alert the police on the slightest hint of danger and also share footages recorded.
We want to ensure the public that we remain committed to working with all other stakeholders to ensure a very successful festive season.
