The business community and local leaders in West Nile are mourning the death of Hajji Twaha Agarile, a businessman and the proprietor of Nile Star Bus Company.
According to a statement released by the office of the Ambassador of Uganda in Ankara, Turkey on Thursday, November 7, 2023, Agarile died at Medipol Hospital in Istanbul on Monday due to an unknown illness.
Benard Atiku, the Former Member of Parliament for Ayivu County who also doubles as the Arua City Land Board Chairperson says the contribution of Twaha especially improving the quality of the transport sector in the entire West Nile region is unmatched.
Meanwhile, Achile Twalibu, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner for Pakwach praised Agarile for his contributions to the development of the business sector in the West Nile region.
Agarile’s remains were brought into the country today and taken to Old Kampala Gaddafi Mosque for prayers and will be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Eradiru village in Rigbo sub-county Madi Okollo district.
