KAMPALA: With pothole issue still pending, stinking garbage is yet another disease without immediate cure in Kampala City. With current rains experienced in the city, filling potholes everywhere, it’s now a twin problem which will need a twin solution to help Kampala dwellers be healthy and in harmony.
Along Wandegeya-Mulago Road, is where the stinking garbage was extracted from the roadside water channel and left on top of the tarmac for the period of a week now. This has been worsened by the constant rains that erode the garbage back to the roadside channel near people’s businesses putting them at a risk of contracting diseases.
The other issue that is most pressing on this abandoned garbage is that it has caused accidents to boda boda riders with one minor one being witnessed by the reporter of this publication. This has even reduced the length of the lane thereby pushing riders and drivers to all divert thereby causing collision at times.
With KCCA pushing for a smart city, simple issues like this must be solved with ease or else the vision might be a history.
Recently our reporter made around walk along a few roads within Kampala and found out that KCCA had embarked on filling potholes but experts say that the move instead weakness stronger parts of the tarmac.
A few people our reporter talked to said that, the city needs a seriously prayers since physical intervention has seemed effortless.
