OBONGI: Esia bridge in Adjumami district towards Ciforo is overflooded. According to the RDC Obongi district,road users are advised to be careful when traveling as heavy rain has caused havoc flooding the bridge.
“I have communicated with the RDC Adjumani to intervene because Esia bridge connects to Sinyanya Obongi ferry”, said
RDC Obongi Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka.
This week ,the Resident District Commissioner (RDC)Obongi, Mr Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka’s official vehicle got stuck on the road due to sorry state of the road linking and connecting Obongi-Sinyanya-Adjumani.
The RDC who was monitoring government funded programs found a very difficult time on the road on Wednesday and resorted to walking on foot instead.
The road in question links Obongi district to Northern Uganda by a ferry at Sinyanya landing site through River Nile.
In an interview on phone with Hasaka,our reporter established that the roads linked to Obongi under UNRA are currently in a very sorry state.
The worst roads include; Obongi-Itula-Palorinya -Moyo road. Meanwhile other road links also includes; Obongi-Kulikulinga-Terego.
During the Obongi quarterly roads committee meeting chaired by the Woman Member of Parliament Hon Maneno Zumura last month ,the meeting blamed UNRA for the bad state of roads in Obongi district and surrounding districts of Moyo,Yumbe and Terego.
ln a letter witnessed by this newspaper ,the Obongi RDC has written to the UNRA station manager Moyo to quickly have the roads renovated as soon as possible.

Samuel Mpimbasa has called upon the UNRA management to help the community by working on the road to avoid disruption of transport on the road.
