OTUKE: Police in Otuke district of North Kyoga Region have started investigation into the death of a -37-year-old resident of Otuke town council in Otuke district.
According to the police PRO North Kyoga Region ,SP Jimmy Patrick Okema in,the territorial police in Otuke district are investigating suspected death by drowning of one Egaro Sam,a-37-year-old man who is a resident of Ocuri-Icak cell, Oget ward, Otuke Town Council in Otuke District.
This follows an allegations that the deceased(Egaro Sam) disappeared from his home on the 1st November ,2023 at around 21:30 hours and on 3rd November 2023 ,his wife called Akello Teddy, reported his disappearance at Otuke Central Police Station under SD REF 15/03/11/2023.
However on the 6th November, 2023 his body was discovered dead floating on the water of River Moroto at Elimakec cell, Oget ward ,Otuke Town Council, Otuke District.
SP Okema stated that the scene of crime was visited by a team of Police officers from Otuke police station and was well documented.
He said the statement of witnesses were recorded from the scene of crime by the police.
Meanwhile the body was retrieved from the water and conveyed to Orum Health Centre IV pending postmortem.
North Kyoga Region police spokesperson SP Okema Patrick Jimmy stated that an investigation is going on to establish what happened exactly.
Okema issued the statement on Monday afternoon to the media.
