Armed thugs have once again in a space of just five days, raided Kyotera B cell in Mabaale town council in Kagadi district and robbed at gunpoint a businesswoman Shamilla Nakawesi.
The incident occurred at around 8 pm on Wednesday night. The gunmen waylaid Nakawesi, who operates a motorcycle shop as she was returning home from her shop. They emerged from a nearby bush, brandishing firearms, and forcibly held her at gunpoint.
They ordered her to surrender all the money she had in her possession. After getting the money, the thugs fired bullets into the air before fleeing the scene.
This incident comes shortly after another armed robbery in Mabaale town council when Shs 4 million cash was stolen from a businesswoman at gunpoint.
The victim, Evarce Kutusa Nyabwana, who operates a hardware shop in Mabaale town council, was attacked and robbed as she was returning home. The assailants grabbed her bag containing money and fired shots in the air before fleeing the scene.
Nyabwana was rushed to St. Ambrose health center III after collapsing during the robbery. She recounted the incident, stating that two gunmen emerged from a nearby bush, threatened her, and demanded her valuables while warning her not to raise the alarm.
