The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has disclosed that two Senior Four candidates gave birth shortly before exams.
Jenipher Kalule, the UNEB principal communications officer, disclosed that these incidents happened before the Chemistry and Physics exams on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
The first candidate, hailing from Kibaale District, successfully delivered a healthy baby boy approximately one hour before her scheduled examination.
The second candidate, from Gulu, underwent a Caesarean section late on Monday night to deliver her child. She appeared on Tuesday morning to write her Chemistry exam.
These two cases bring the total number of candidates who have given birth since UCE exams commenced last week to three. The first incident occurred in Kampala, where a candidate gave birth to a baby girl last Thursday.
