KASESE: Leaders and manager of public places in Kasese District have been requested to form security committees that would report security intelligence information to and cooperate with Uganda Peoples Defense Forces in ensuring a peace living.
The concerns comes after several attacks by suspected Allied Democratic Force Rebels (ADF) which has affected many activities including business, tourism and social well-being of residents basically those at the boarder of Uganda and RD. Congo.
In a recent attack in Queen Elizabeth National Park two tourists were killed with their tour guide who was killed by suspected ADF Rebels and their vehicle was set to fire
Several Leaders and residents in Kasese District and Uganda at large have condemned the attacks among which they Mr. Bahemuka Andrew the local one chairperson for Nyamighera Village and Mr. Muhekwa Mbusa all from Nyakiyumbu Sub County asked government recruit home guides who they think will help UPDF in securing the country.
The two showed their disappointment about the last months attack by a group of unidentified suspected ADF rebels fired bullets and later burnt a lorry which was carrying onions and it was heading to Bwera Town along Bwera-Kasese Road where the driver died on spot and among woman was burnt beyond recognition.
Mr. Katabura Baguma a driver who doubles as the Chairperson for Musyenene Trading Center in Nyakiyumbu Sub County showed a need for all leaders to conduct security meetings to formulate guidelines that may govern different businesses including hotels, lodges and transport.
Mr. Katabura who today conducted a security meeting at Musyenen Trading Centre cautioned business communities to identify customers they serve their services.
Meanwhile Dr. Chrispus Kiyonga, the Former Minister of Defense who doubles as Kasese National Resistance Movement (NRM) had earlier highlighted that Uganda Peoples Defense Forces is working tirelessly to hunt the perpetrators who killed innocent United Kingdoms, South African Tourists and their Guide. He added that UPDF is also hunting ADF rebels in parts of Eastern Democratic of Republic of Congo
Dr. Kiyonga asked locals to be more vigilant, cooperate and strengthen village security by reporting any threat to responsible security organs or leaders because the suspected Rebels are targeting to get more man power by abducting Ugandans and medication from health facilities in Uganda.
