OBONGI: Implementation of the executive order number three has again seriously kicked off in Obongi district with emphasis on charcoal and timber trade done illegally.
Authorities in Obongi district have banned Illegal charcoal burning and illegal timber business.
This has been done to implement executive order no.3 recently issued by H.E the President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni Kaguta.
Recently, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC)Obongi, Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, and the district forest officer Mr Rongum Tairi led an operation in Itula sub-county where over three hundred bags of charcoal and timber were impounded
The suspect later went at night and burnt the charcoal impounded in the forest.
However later the unburnt bags of charcoal and timber were handed over to Central Police Station (CPS)Obongi.
According to the RDC Hasaka Samuel Mpimbasa charcoal business and illegal timber business will be history.
The RDC Obongi and the district forest officer after impounding a locally made wheel barrow made of timber which was used to transport charcoal and timber in Itula forest warned the public not to trade in illegal timber business.
However the Resident District Commissioner ( RDC) urged the Wanahinci to report any one illegally conducting any of the above in Obongi district.
Presidential directives takes a new twist as any one caught in the act shall be arranged before the court of law.
RDC Samuel Mpimbasa Hasaka has on several occasions blamed a section of leaders even appointed by government on connivance over blocking the presidential directives in Obongi by fighting office of the RDC.
