KASESE: King Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma has urged Rwenzururu subjects to execute cultural morals and practices to portray a good image of the kingdom.
The King sounded the message this afternoon at Kilembe Golf Course while addressing his subjects and a section of invited politicians, cultural leaders, and religious leaders.
King Mumbere cited that it does not look good when Rwenzururu subjects act in a weird manner claiming it as a good way, adding that they should promote cultural morals and values in a way of revamping the lost glory of the banya Rwenzururu.
He also stressed that it is an opportunity for the Rwenzururu Kingdom to prove it’s existence since recognition by President Museveni as a cultural kingdom in Uganda in 2009.
He therefore, rose up a set of 5 principles as the Kingdom regains it’s Kingdom ship including, reconciliation, peace building, development, mindset change and unity and diversity.
Relatedly, King Mumbere encouraged his subjects and people of the Rwenzori region to actively engage in productive activities and to educate their children as one way of fighting poverty, hunger and illiteracy in the communities.
The Minister of State for Gender and Culture Hon. Peace Mutuuzo who also doubles as the Women representative for Bunyangabu district has called upon people of the Rwenzori region to embrace tourism of the area by regularly visiting the national parks around, adding that they should develop human capital resources to boost influence of tourism in the area.
She indicated that Rwenzururu kingdom is blessed with a number of beautiful flora and fauna which locals must promote to and earn through the tourism sector.
However, she discouraged politicians against acting as conflict developers among communities, citing that it is a bad practice.
The State Minister for ICT and National Guidance Godfrey Baluku Kabyanga requests the Vice President to enhance security of Kasese District and the entire region in order to curb and reduce heinous acts that are being committed by ADF rebel attacks simultaneously.
Hon. Kabyanga had appreciated the governments engagement to the community through the Parish Development Model program that is aiming to to bring economic diversification to the poor Ugandan citizens. He however, warns self PDM individuals that are privately hiding a way the money from the benefitiaries to desist the habits promptly.
