The Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has held a meeting with the Ambassador of South Korea to Uganda, H.E. Park Sung-Soo.
The South Korean diplomat, who has been in Uganda since 2022, was accompanied by his deputy as they met the Ugandan General in Entebbe.
According to a message from Gen. Kainerugaba’s office, their discussions focused on the projects being carried out by South Korea in Uganda.
“The Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba was happy to meet the South Korean Ambassador, H.E. Park Sung-Soo, and his delegation. They discussed various programmes being conducted by South Korea in Uganda,” the message noted.
Two years ago, Uganda and South Korea agreed to bolster their bilateral relations in 10 key areas after both countries signed memoranda of understanding.
The agreements were signed by different Ministers of the two countries at a ceremony where President Yoweri Museveni hosted his visiting South Korean counterpart, Park Geun-Hye.
To date, the two countries collaborate in areas of policy consultation (foreign affairs), health care and medical science, information and communication technology, energy (industry and plant construction), science and technology, community credit cooperatives, social welfare, defence, agriculture and rural development.
