Outspoken Speaker of the parliament of Uganda as well as the woman member of parliament representing Bukedea District, Rt. Hon. Anitah Annet Among has never been moved by threats from the international community, most especially European countries ever since the Anti-Homosexual bill 2023 was tabled before parliament.
In one of her statements three months ago, the speaker of parliament, Rt. Hon Anitah Annet among boldly told the August house that she is not scared of the outcome as a result, but the Anti-Homosexuality bill must be passed into law.
“I receivedĀ several threatening calls and emails regardingĀ the Anti-Homosexuality bill 2023, this can’t stop us from protecting our culture, IĀ am not scared of any sanctions as long as I can go to my constituencyĀ Bukedea to hell with America” – Speaker Among.
She also said, as the Parliament of Uganda, they had answered the cries of our people.
“We have legislated to protect the sanctity of family as per Article 31 of the Constitution of Uganda. We have stood strong to defend our culture and aspirations of our people as per objectives 19 & 24 of national objectives and directive principles of state policy” – Speaker A mong.
