Kampala, Uganda: NRM Vice Chairman for Eastern Region Capt. Mike Mukula has asked Activist Pastor Martin Ssempa to amicably withdraw his complaint he registered with Uganda Police seeking to issue a stoppage on Ugandan legendary artiste Jose Chameleone Joseph Mayanja.
Capt. Mukula told Umoja Standard that,
“As the patron of Uganda musicians Association, I have reached out to pastor Martin Ssempa with a view to withdraw his complaint registered with Police on Jose Chameleone since he has issued a public apology and never to repeat, I salute his acceptance of withdrawal”.
After their conversation, Mukula tweeted,
Umoja Standard on Monday, 27 February 2023, published a story where the outspoken Pastor registered a complaint with Uganda Police seeking to ban his concerts not until the artiste (Chameleone) issues a public apology to the countrymen and women for his indecent conduct when he kissed with his brother Douglas Mayanja alias Weasel Manizo which he termed was promotion of homosexuality during his “Gwanga Mujje” Concert.
His argument was that how can the country strung in fighting the fire spreading awkward foreign culture ‘homosexuality’ and someone is kissing with brother.
However, yesterday after days of self-counselling and advise from Captain Mike Mukula, Singer Chameleone took to his twitter account and issued a public apology and on behalf of his brother Weasel and promised not to repeat again.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Dr. Jose Chameleone wrote and said;
“My sincere apologies to the general public” I thank you @Mukulaa for your advice and patronage – For God and my country. pic.twitter.com/j6FekUwb3r
