Kampala, Uganda: The opposition party democracy party (DP)has announced the national wide registrations of party members in the next six months to gain its support.
The party president who also doubles and the Ministry for constitution Affairs Hon Norbert Moa while addressing the party weekly press conferences at party political command centre Balintuma Road said that today many people are claiming to be party members but without party cards nor existing in party register and moving around tarnishing the name of the party which they want to eliminate.
“We are going to summon National Executive Members (NEC) to put interim leaders at every district who will register genuine party members to eliminate masqueraders ” Moa adds
“We have divided Kampala (Central) into 4 districts of Nakawa, Makindye, Lubaga and Kawempe Division then will move to all cities in Rural parts of those districts then followed by other regions of the country” because we are tired of people who claim to be DP in name of Kino Kibiina kyabajjajaffe” yet going around tarnishing its reputation and this registration going to bring truthful members inside another masqueraders out ” minister disclosed
Moa has also disclosed that he is going to start name and shame policy to those people who play double politics and moving around tarnishing their fellow’s reputation.
On the same presser Hon Norbert Mao has refused allegations that the bailing out of two members of Parliament was apolitical driven move.
“I was much involved in bailing out of the legislators but was not political instead done to help the ever crying and suffering families of the MPs” Minister revealed.
“But people should stop politicizing everything because it’s everyone’ s constitution right to get bail adding he has not helped only those two since his entering of Constitution affairs minister but many have been released just because public is not apappreciative” he disclosed.
Allan Ssewanyana, the Makindye West MP and his Kawempe North counterpart, Muhammad Ssegirinya secured bail from the Masaka High Court Resident Judge, Lawrence Tweyanze were the duo has spent nearly 16 months on remand on a spiral of charges including attempted murder, murder, and terrorism following their arrest on September 7th, 2021.
