Kampala, Uganda: The celebrations will be held on 26th January 2023 in Kakumiro district headquarters with the Theme “Our resolute Effort to Transform Uganda is a promise we shall fulfill” and president Museveni who doubles as the NRM National Chairman will be the chief guest and over 50 people will be award with medals in different categories.
While addressing the Journalists at Media centre today State Minister for Kampala affairs who has represented the ministry for presidency Milly Babalanda, Hon. Kyoffatogabye said that those are hypocrites and public should not give attention. ” Oba bassezzi ate baloggo”.
“Ignore such unvalued statements, expected other 2 years were COVID-19 affected our cerebrations this year is different come in large numbers to cerebrate only those who will sit in VVIP tents are only required to test for COVID-19 but others are free to come for merry making but don’t carry your phones, laptops or any gadget,” said minister.
“since taking power by NRM in 1986 many things have changed among which include growth in private incomes has made it possible for many Ugandans to improve their lives by living better houses, eating better and accessing essential and nonessential goods, saying life expectancy has improved from 39 to 65, people living with poverty has reduced from 56% in 1992 to 20 in 2020, electricity access to 22% from 1% in 1986 among others” he disclosed.
He has disclosed that security and rule of laws is at its peak despite minor incidents happing in some parts of the country but Uganda is peaceful so cerebrations are truly important.
Meanwhile he has challenged the former Minister without pportfolio Hon Hajji Abudul Nadduli to desist from talking ill about the party but instead pass through proper channels to help the country build more democracy ” Mr Naduli is our Eleder who need to teach us how they have managed to rule this country for 37 years such that our generation can lead for more 37 years” says minister.
On the same function President will preside over the official opening of the Kakumiro NRM house, commission the newly tarmacked Kakumiro-Buhimba road and hand over free hold land titles to beneficiaries among other activities of the day.
NRM Liberation Day in Uganda is celebrated on January 26th each year. The public holiday commemorates the date in 1986 when the NRM/NRA took over.
