Kampala, Uganda: The opposition Democratic Party (DP)says peaceful Negotiations is the only path to have peaceful country after the fall of National Resistance Movement (NRM) Regime.
Norbert Mao the party president and also double as the minister of Justice and constitutional Affairs while addressing journalists at the party’s political command centre Balintuma Rd in Lubaga North said that Many of opposition players have failed to understand that opposition can sit on a round table to plan for the future of the country and is the reason why many think it illegal to work in ruling government.
“Malice and violence will never bring peaceful country instead take back the country where it came from or even have environment like that in Somalia, Sudan, Libya among others” Moa adds
“DP is now used to all critics but committed to remain on it’s objectives of the agreement recently signed with NRM to have peaceful change of power in government and we are in high gear 2023 to impact change and were are planning for 16 sub-regional meetings with DP leaders to have way forward, concerning our relationship with NRM we are planning to have a joint Secretariate where our 2026 politics will take places” president revealed.
Mao has laughed up to some opposition leaders who have been for long time denied to work with governmentĀ and now have been shamed.
“I my self have never been helped by Gen. salim Saleh to save me from loosing my political seat in Gulu and I know news circulating on lord Mayor Erias Lukwago are true because Gen is not a man of Malice so this must be an example to all Ugandans that they should know the politicians they are following and many soon are good to be exposed” Mao disclosed.
He asked all DP leaders at all levels to teach and explain to DP fraternity the truth such that their party goes back were is expected to be.
On the same presserĀ Hon. Norbert Mao has assured that the 2 National Unity Platform (NUP) impresioned Legistrators soon will get justice but he should also be thanked for efforts put to release many NUP members.
“IĀ have helped many Ugandans mostly NUP members to get justice but no one has ever given a vote of thanks but thisĀ will not stop me to seek justice to Ugandans adding theĀ case file of Hon Ssewanyana and Ssegirinya the hearing has started which means bail application is difficult but am in talks with family members, although am theĀ minister of Justice I no powers to order for their release because will be taken as minimizing judiciary” he disclosed.
