Fort Portal, Uganda: Today- Monday the family of Justice Mugamba has prepared a funeral service for three members of the family who perished in Buloba-road-accident on Friday.
Burial is to be held in Bwigamiro, Fort Portal, Kabarole District, Western Uganda this afternoon.
Reports indicate that Ulrich Mugamba, Tara Mugamba, and Elli Mugamba were on their way from Fort Portal to Kampala for Christmas holidays when a trailer bumped into their Toyota Harrier of Registration number UBH 008G at the Forest Park in Buloba located on Kampala-Mityana Road.
Church service was held on Saturday at All Saints Church in Kampala to pay tribute to the deceased.
Judith Mugamba, the mother of Elli and Tara, told mourners that “This is the most difficult time for me.”
She added: “I spent Christmas with them. It was an amazing time. We had drinks, it was like we were saying goodbye.”
Judith further said “Elli came home on December 23, 2022 and showed me the tattoo he had put on his wrist, and wanted us all to put the same tattoo on our wrists.”
David Mugamba, the father of Elli and Tara, said he had “enjoyed love from these children.”
He added: “The bodies have gone, but spirits will stay. Emotionally, we will fight.”
In his words while preaching, Rev. Can Geoffrey Byarugaba, the main celebrant at the church service, said this kind of death is not normal.
“The normal death is that parents should bury their children, and not the reverse,” he said as mourners broke down in tears.
“We have been observing recklessness especially with drivers driving heavy vehicles. There are young looking faces driving these heavy vehicles. Do they qualify?” he wondered.
“Government should take time and look into the age of drivers taking on heavy vehicles. The Government should look into the driving and certification of heavy trucks. Such incidents could be avoided,” said Byarugaba.
He said life on earth is preparatory for life after. “We are here, but on temporary terms.”
“Accidents are accidents. You can fall in the bathroom and die. There is a man who was killed by his own cow. That is an accident, you cannot explain it, but one thing we must not forget is that God is still in charge.”
At the moment reports indicate that Victoria Mugamba, the sister of Ulrich, who was also involved in the Buloba accident, is fighting for her life in hospital.
