It is against this background that she asked local producers to make a step further to start participating in the regional market the (East African Common Market, COMESA and African Free Trade Area- ‘AfCFTA’) which have been secured for producers on the African continent.
“All East African Countries are expediting ‘common standards’ to relieve traders and producers from trade barriers and bureaucracy in that if the standard is approved in one country, it is not subjected to further approval in another member state”. Amelia Kyambadde.
She however asked them, ‘As you everything, emphasize the idea of Buy Uganda Build Uganda as it was initiated to add value on local products to compete on the international scene’.
Gilbert Otim the Marketing Manager of Stabex International, Uganda told Umoja Standard that indeed that awards have brought about efficiency as every stakeholder is fighting to see that is producing to the acceptable quality to suit the market.
He added that such organization is a boost to them as private sector and ensures continuity in service delivery to communities.
