Bishop Barham University, a constituent College of Uganda Christian University based in Kabale district has won this year’s Kabale District Guild Leaders Association Tournament (KADGLA).
The finals were played on Sunday at Kabale University playground where Bishop Barham University men’s football team lost to Kabale University Boys football 5:4 in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw in the normal time of the game of the tournament that was organized by the Umbrella of students guild leaders for the institutions in Kabale district.
However, Bishop Barham University College won the trophies for girls’ football and girls’ volleyball to emerge as the overall tournament winner. Meanwhile, Kabale University won the boys’ volleyball, Netball, and boys’ football.
Ivan Habasa, the BBU secretary applauded the players for the good performance they had exhibited during the tournament that helped them win it and leave the institute’s flag flying high in the sports field.
Habasa implored the students to embrace sports as a platform to develop their talents.
The finals had been scheduled for 18th October but were postponed to 23rd October 2022 after being disrupted by heavy rainfall.
The tournament was interrupted for two years by the COVID-19 outbreak that caused the closure of educational institutions across the country.
