Kampala, Uganda: In a very competitive general elections held on 14th October 2022, where different students were contesting on different posts to carry new roles, the most most competitive position was the guild presidency where three candidates showed up.
Before election time, candidates did campaign first and this was a moment of promising heaven on earth to the voters.
The guest speaker at this function was Mr Niwagaba Godfrey who is also the former guild president 2019 -2020, and also a former contestant for president Uganda Management Institute Alumni Association 2022 where he emerged second, conveyed a message to the awaited leader to be elected and to the general student’s fraternity and tasked the new leader to make sure that their voters get purpose of voting them, he requested them to be good and exemplary leader to their beloved subjects.
Irene Nyanjala the outgoing guild President and chief organiser of the Institute’s election appreciated her team she was working with for good cooperation and organising such an amazing elections.
She also committed herself to work in hand with all leaders that students would vote, also appreciated the guest speaker being honest and mentoring her to become a good leader.
At the end of the election the chairperson electoral commission Uganda Management Institute declared the winner for guild presidency post as Kasawuli Mohammad with a total of 49 votes followed by Ngobi Michael who got 40 votes and Aleper came as last with 02 votes.
Another competitive position to take was guild speakership which was taken by Nanduga Sumaya with 61 votes and her competitor Nakamya Lynnet got 21 votes.
Other vacancies were general Secretary won by Magezi Junior, deputy general secretary that was taken by Achemutai Stella, Male senata representative won by Byamukama Francis and Female senate representative won by Ankunda Ashbell.
After the UMI EC chairperson declaring the winners, he communicated as he thanked God for enabling them prepare a successful activity.
He appreciated the candidates who participated in the race for displaying high level of integrity and discipline.
